Summary: Ron wakes in the night to find Hermione involved elsewhere
Author's Notes: This was to redress the balance for Ron/Hermione after reading a setting where Harry had been the duetting partner. Apologies to anyone I confused by changing the title after posting this. I realised that my last entry in this journal was also called Encore, and the title Standing Ovation fitted the bill well too.
Standing Ovation
He loved to hear Hermione play. All through Hogwarts there’d been no clues that she was a musician of any sort. That had been a surprise later on, a year or two after.
“Don’t stop,” Ron whispered standing at the door the only light that from the moon through their sheer curtains. “That’s one of my favourites.”
Hermione looked up towards her husband; the slightest hitch in her playing matched the one in her breath at the knowledge of what was to follow. It took all of her concentration to continue to the end of the music, she was totally oblivious to whether she’d played wrong notes, or whether the trill towards the end of the second subject had been in time.
“Do I get my usual round of applause?” she asked quirking an eyebrow and her voice dripping with suggestiveness as she slipped from the stool and carefully lowered the lid over the keyboard.
“What do you think?” Ron asked, moving into the room and taking Hermione’s hips into both of his hands to lift her onto the piano and raising the hem of her nightdress as he did so.
Hermione’s mouth searched urgently for Ron’s as her hands moved on his heated skin, realising instantly that he needed to be inside of her as much as she needed him to be there. There were times when their love making took all night as they carefully explored each other and took time to lavish never ending pleasure until the intensity of orgasm was inevitable. This wasn’t one of those times. Wordlessly they edged closer together, gasping in unison as he entered her and they moved in the time old rhythm that both of them welcomed as they moved towards a well loved and rehearsed climax, Ron’s fingers dug deeper into Hermione’s hips as she clung to him, her head thrown back in ecstasy as a nail trailed his spine.
“All those years I didn’t know you could play the piano,” Ron whispered into Hermione’s ear as he collected his breath.
“Probably a good thing there wasn’t one at Hogwarts,” Hermione suggested, her head resting on his shoulder, “Though I don’t think this is quite what they were expecting when my parents arranged my lessons.”
“No?” Ron asked smiling, the scratches on his back pleasantly smarting. “Standing ovation doesn’t have quite the same understanding in the Muggle world then?”
“No Ron,” Hermione teased as she crushed her lips back to his. “I’m sure encore does though.”

In all seriousness, Gill. Don't look for a job. Start writing and get published. You ARE good enough, promise you.

Wouldn't that be brilliant? I'd not have to get dressed, or even get up. I could write in bed every day.
I love you for your faith in me. *huggles hard* I really do.

(I did admire the other Hermione however for not even playing a wrong note when her breast was lewdly removed from her silk camisole. I play wrong notes if someone dares to talk to me!)
Thank you for reading, and for leaving a comment. *grin*

Oh, seriously! That's prefection at its best! That's the thing though. They make Hermione and Harry toooooooooo perfect. Like, most of the time they change her hair from bushy to sleek and Harry's always super toned from those "rough" Quidditch practices. Hermione can't do one thing wrong or her life is over and Harry's never an immature guy. LOL! I can't even play the piano, so there we go!
No problem you're welcome!

I was linked to the other Hermione playing the piano story and just had to put things right for poor Ron, hence this piece. I've not really been a R/Hr shipper in the past, but recently I've started to write them together and am definitely getting there. I think as they've matured Ron has done exactly that and matured, whereas Hermione has become a little softer and more forgiving (if that's the right term), and now they're working for me.
Thank you again. You really can't imagine the hugely wide smile at your praise, and to know that I've been added to your memories. *grin*
